Day-guard cover paused, new target R43,125 a month

SCP Security left the sites on 10 October 2026. Without guards, the dumping and burning return within weeks.

The new monthly target to bring day-guard cover back is R43,125, VAT included. Donations are tax-deductible under Section 18A.

Section 18A approval from SARS

SARS approved the NPC as a tax-exempt Public Benefit Organisation with Section 18A approval (PBO reference 930091814). Donations by individuals and companies are now tax-deductible.

Day guards back on the sites

With the dumping back and a new site burning daily between the Pipeline settlement and the Spruit, we re-engaged day-guard cover with SCP Security, funded entirely by community contributions.

Trial funding ran out, and the cover stopped

The community-funded security trial ended when the money ran out. The operators came straight back. We know the solution works; it needs steady monthly funding to continue.

Security trial started, and it worked

With support from local companies and individual sponsors, the community funded a private security team at the sites through to February 2026.

Dump trucks were turned away and burning dropped by up to 80%. Residents across the surrounding neighbourhoods breathed clean air again.
